Week A1
Topic: Intro to Atoms and Light, Sources of Light

Summary:
Atoms are tiny particles that are the building blocks of everything in the universe. Every atom contains energy. Each atom has a normal energy level. If the atom gets more energy than its normal level, it is "excited" and will give off the energy in the form of light.Sources of light include things that produce their own light (sun, candle, flashlight), rather than things that reflect light (moon, mirror). Nuclear reactions, heat, chemical reactions, and phosphorescence are all ways atoms give off energy as light.
